For the publication Second Thoughts we brought together journalists, photographers, and photo editors from Eastern and Western Europe. Here we show two talks, an essay and a photoseries to mix different perspectives on current journalism.

Second Thoughts Discussing Journalism: Illegal Immigrants

Is it accurate to characterize a person escaping from war as "illegal"? Fleeing from war and political persecution, people often are forced stepping into a sphere of illegality, although European right ensures the protection of asylum seekers by law. Caterina Lobenstein and Piotr Skwiecinski discussed this delicate question last year at the n-ost media conference Moscow.
